The pushmi-pullyu. As a small child I didn't grasp the pun and pronounced this "push-mipple-you". There was also a device in a Donald Duck comic called the "enlarging machine" which I called the "enargling machine".

ETA: Mum reckons I actually said "pushapummel". he he he
