I agree. After the initial shock of seeing it was directed by Guy Ritchie, I remembered how much action there was in the original stories. When Holmes initially "died," he did it while kicking Professor Moriarty's ass.
So with that in mind, I rewatched the trailer. Quite honestly, I think RDJ and JL will remain true to their characters. (As part of his preparation, RDJ watched all of the Jeremy Brett episodes.) It's the story I question. I'm not sure about the idea of monsters and supernatural elements being thrown in.
To be honest, I'm going to go see the film when it comes out. I want to see how RDJ and JL handle both characters with this storyline. Besides, the trailer has me hooked.
Until then, I'm going to reread The Hound of the Baskervilles. There's a great scene in that story where Watson bitches Holmes out that the whiny Watson bit made me think of. :D
