a) I wasn't a huge Piper fan, although she at least looked more like a young woman than a school kid.

b) I've always been old and grouchy!

And yes, it's pathetic, I know, but it feels to me like TPTB are telling us oldies "thanks for all your help with making new Who a hit, but we don't need you any more so you can bugger off now."
