Tim woke us up with copious, unproductive retching, which soon produced a crumbled bit of tinfoil. The little devil had got into my cheese paste triangles yesterday, but I didn't realise he'd manage to ingest part of one of the wrappers. Once he'd got it out of his system he was instantly his normal springy self and started chirping for his breakfast. I keel heem.

omg. I was at the letterbox and a shy youngster handed me Fred Nile's election literature: a glossy colour brochure about "Radical Islam" and how the law oppresses Christians and "English-speaking descendants of Anglo-Celtic and European origins" (sic). Hooo boy. For a dedicated sexual puritan, this guy will get into bed with anybody.

The new Doctor Who has been noted for the excellence of its visual effects, particularly the remarkable recreation of London during the Blitz. For comparison, I thought this image from the 1972 Dad's Army episode Keep Young and Beautiful might be of interest. You'll be amazed to learn I haven't enhanced it in any way.
