I highly recommend the little book On Bullshit by moral philosopher Harry G. Frankfurt. He goes over the definition of "bullshit" with a fine-toothed comb, conclusing that it means talking without caring whether what you say is true or false (as distinct from lying, where you know it's false and that's the point). This explains 99% of all Internet discussion and is therefore extremely useful.
