In wholly unrelated news

Lloyd gave me an unbeatable clipping, I guess from the Washington Post: "Perry St NE, 2000 block, March 21. A woman called animal control to report a beaver on a sidewalk. An animal control officer found a beaver standing on its hind legs, nowhere near a body of water. The officer, wearing gloves, picked up the friendly beaver, put it in a van and took it to the DC shelter. The beaver was released later that day in a river."

well, you always SHOULD wear protection when approaching strange beavers.

A twoonies instead of a nickel for the occasion. Though if you hide the bear's leg, it looks like a beaver.

I wonder if it was someone's escaped pet? The beavers I've encountered, even the ones living in an urban setting, have still been pretty wild.
