My first night with CPAP

My reaction -

- OK, you know that bit in the Simpsons movie where Bart takes a sip of Flanders' hot chocolate, and says in tones of awe, "Oh my God." ? -

- "Oh my God."

Hilarious photo of self in CPAP apparatus, looking somewhat like Hath, to follow.

Yes, but do you feel better? Actually, that may take a while...

The difference is immediately noticeable. Ohyes. Obviously I'm not 100% yet, but even in the middle of the night I could tell that something was happening. Fingies crossed!

It was the best thing...

That

That <ljuser=hiraethin> EVER did!!

He's less sick. He's less tired. He's less grumpy.

He's more "in the mood"... ;)

I won't live without the machine in our room... EVER!!!

They showed me a corporate video about the thing, including a bit about irritability with a guy whose lawnmower won't start crying, "COW!!!"

Ooh! That's great! I hope you will get as much improvement as I did. I can list 10 things that it made better:

1) Actually sleep all night and wake up refreshed
2) No more snoring (N. loved this one)
3) Mentally alert
4) Not tired all the time
5) No falling asleep at inappropriate times during the day
like in meetings at work, at the movies, watching any TV
6) Throat felt much better
7) No more acid reflux
8) Could sing again
9) Fewer colds (immune system boosted)
10) Better memory

There are probably more, but you get the idea. It was such a
miracle for me! I rarely get to talk to anybody about it, so do post your experiences. It's so nice to hear from another person being helped by the little machine.

7) No more acid reflux

Oh, that's v. interesting! I'm currently taking Pariet for that.

Is that one of them machines that puts positive-pressure air into a mask on your face while you sleep, to help your breathing?

I'm glad it worked for you. My second-cousin Jeb tried to save some money by hooking up a snorkel mask to an air compressor. We're still looking for some of the parts to his head.

Not that all the parts were there in the first place, mind you.

All he had to do was make some little breathing holes in it!
