I never imagined that the sound of the Enterprise computer would be poignant, but hearing her voice in the next Trek film will give me pause...

(I've already seen Trek fans complaining that if she did the part sounding like the TNG computer, rather than the TOS robo-Majel sound, it'll violate canon. Gaaaaah.)

Apparently they've got the story structured so that the reboot can happen *within canon* -- and in the process they've validated my "time travel keeps changing fundamental things about Trek history and technology" theory. :)

But yeah....bummer about Majel.

*sigh* I think my heart just broke.

She was one of the true Divas of the Sci-Fi community. I grew up listening to and watching her and embraced so many of the things she and Gene created, taking a great deal of joy and entertainment from them as well.

May the Gods set her in the heavens to shine like the jewel she is, was and will be.
