Another one of those headlines

"Skydiver lobbies Baghdad to be sent into space"

Could solve a few problems. Jerusalem, too, although in a separate orbit, obvs.

Have you read The Fresco by Sheri Tepper? The aliens remove Jerusalem from our space time continum until everyone agrees to play nice.... turns out the aliens have a few problems of their own that the humans can help with.

That's weird, cause I once wrote some Dr. Who related fan fiction where someone switched Berlin and Jerusalem... I don't remember the specifics.

Separate orbits... around separate stars... in separate galaxies... yeah, that should do it. :P

Will Rogers once suggested something similar as a way to stop wars: move countries around, putting the maximum possible distance between (IIRC) France and Germany, or England and Ireland, and don't tell their enemies where they went.

Of course, this would play havoc with trade and tourism, but I won't deny it has a certain appeal nonetheless.

Rarely has bad sentence structure been so constructive!

I love your icon. May I steal it, please?

It's great, isn't it? If it were one I'd made, then I would say certainly you could use it, but it was made by [livejournal.com profile] ladytalon. I bet she would let you use it if you asked her. I've seen several folks around who use it.

A cheaper alternative: renaming all the countries and confiscating all old atlases and maps.

Even if we only did this for countries whose names started with 'I', or 'United', it'd help.

Do we get a vote on the our country's new name? I've always wanted to live in France. Do we get their food and art as well?

[identity profile] alawston.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but only if you also take on their plumbing.

On second thoughts....

Jerusalem, too, although in a separate orbit, obvs

Well, obvs, I've seen The Twin Dilemna - putting them in the same orbit would BLOW A HOLE IN THE UNIVERSE.

And another fantastic headline:

Missing baby found in Sandwich.

Thank you FoxNews, that made my day.

Oh, that is perfection.
