I dreamed that Sherlock lived on a beach at the top of a tall glass tower made of blown glass shapes.

Was it one continuous piece of blown glass, or many different pieces put together to make a tower?

Lots of bulbs, like a series of hourglasses of different shapes and sizes. It looked simultaneously strong and fragile. Good metaphor for something.

Perhaps the tower represents his world, made up of all the spun pieces of knowledge he has gathered together, and how he can see their narrow connections, individually weak, but strong when combined. Beautiful, yet breakable with a strong enough blow.
