The uncanny X-words

DA in the SMH continues to delight ("Abolish Bush (5)"). I discovered an absolute bastard of a cryptic on the back of the Guardian Weekly - on my first pass through, I didn't get out a single clue. Fortunately my Puzzle People training cracked one on the second attempt ("Representative of ruler receiving backing of fool by day's end (8)" - there's a clever overlap between definition and clue there).

In other news, Passover arrived with a blare of trumpets and a dinner of Indian-style scrambled eggs with ginger, turmeric, and cumin, salad, and those little spew-like frozen veg 'cos I was completely knackered. Tonight: fright fish with spuds, sweet potatoes, and those little spew-like frozen veg soup from freezer, 'cos I'm completely knackered Indian takeaway.

frozen brocolli and frozen spinach is a godsend. And frozen sugar snap peas and string beans

Must add some of these to my freezer repertoire. I'm increasingly busy and tired, so veg on demand would be a big help.
