These days, yes - he used to be thinner in "Whose line is it anyway?"-days.
And if you don't know Whose Line, check it out - starts as a UK thing with Clive Anderson hosting, then moved into a US version. Both are good.

Paul Merton was in Whose Line? Awesum! (We gave up cable before it got around to those episodes, I guess.) Who would be the Ryan to his Colin? Graham Norton, I suppose.

The ones where Paul Merton features are older than the US ones - late 1980s I suppose. And he worked pretty much alone, the old cynic.
