dreamer_easy: (WRITING STRANGE FLESH)

(no subject)

500 (of the goriest I have ever written) words. Time for lunch.

ETA: Got confused by some anti-words - I guess I managed 700 words in total today. Discipline still shot to hell.

Does gory writing make you hungry?

[identity profile] murasaki-1966.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Also, do you and John want a lift to Andrew's on Saturday night?

[identity profile] murasaki-1966.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
I did on his blog, and he hasn't replied. I shall email.

Depends on whether Andrew wants us to come over early (because we'll be leaving early)! More news when I hear back.

Okay, email me or ring. Do you have the phone number? If not I'll email it to you.

Promise me you're not torturing Sylvester McCoy's Doctor again... : )

Ah, those were the days.

I really do wish the BBC would let *someone* start publishing adult novels based on the series again, even if it's just new PDAs. The little hardcover self-contained books just aren't doing it for me the way the NAs did.

[identity profile] kateorman.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
There's really no reason those can't have a slightly broader appeal, including both kids and adults, exactly as the show does. (As I mean to demonstrate when I work out who I have to shag and/or kill in order to write one. :)

Part of the problem really is the selection of authors. I don't mean this as a slight on any of the existing writers of the 9/10Doc range, but there are a lot of very talented authors from the NA/EDA stable who really should still be getting the chance to write the books. You and Jon both included.

Yes, Lloyd absolutely. I'm heartened to see a new Lance Parkin out, and it's on my "to buy" list for this month.

Oh, please, don't hold back - no crime is too great.

Good good.

I have stuck in my head the notion that you listen to Queen's soundtrack to Flash Gordon over and over while you write this book.

I don't know where that originated from.

Quids on that it's the "... the saviour of the universe bit."

[identity profile] hiraethin.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
Actually that was my thought too: gorier than your Doctor-torture scenes? Yeesh.

[identity profile] kateorman.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
They never involved AN ELECTRIC CARVING KNIFE.

Eep! =8oO [RUNS AWAY]

[identity profile] hexacontium.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it wrong to look forward to your gory scenes? O_O

[identity profile] kateorman.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure that, compared to your average horror novel, they're pretty tame stuff.
