It's so easy to get the impression that everyone right of centre in the US is a raving loon, but of course the nutters and extremists are only the loudest voices. Helped by the US center of politics being currently so far to the right of the Australian centre. Although we're still heading that way too, so presumably it'll start looking normal to us soon.
