In my area you have the full gamut from full length burqa (with gloves and thick socks/stockings so no flesh is visible) through to the minimalist headscarf (tied loosely over hair, but with hair visible). And of course the no headscarf, which is also quite popular among Muslim and non-Muslim women! ;-)
Generally speaking though it's a very small minority who wear the full burqa, most practising Muslim women seem to go for some variation on the headscarf, if that.
