Red Cross 'urged action on abuse'
. And here's a picture (it's not pleasant), plus a victim's account.

Bush passes the buck to Rumsfeld. Powell breaks ranks.

It's becoming clear that the C of the W knew about the abuse of POWs all along, but did nothing. That's not individual sadists working beneath the system's radar: by condoning torture, the authorities have made it *part* of the system. Meanwhile, what's going on outside of camera shot?

Well, they charged my credit card the $10 for the non-existent domain hosting, and still haven't cancelled my account. If they don't sort it out today, I'm contacting the Office of Fair Trading.

While I'm bashing the current US administration, New Scientist reports that "a web-proxy service set up by the US government's International Broadcasting Bureau to enable websurfers in Iran to evade censorship is itself massively censoring what they can see" by blocking out domains that contain naughty words like "breast", such as www.breastcancer.org, "ass", such as usembassy.state.gov... and "bush".
