Natural History

Today's phylum is PORIFERA, the sponges. Not much to say about these guys, although they may have been the first multicellular animals, which is not a bad accomplishment.

From the CHORDATES, we have the Red Wattlebird (Anthochaera carunculata), one of which I spotted in a neighbour's tree.
