First, the deadly serious bit. I stumbled across scans from a shota magazine, which turned out to be a prepubescent boy coming on to an adult man, accompanied by squeeing from various paedophiles lovers of Japanese sequential art. The neighbour who sexually abused me showed me a magazine with pictures of adults and kids together to "prove" that what he was doing was normal and OK; a comic book showing a little boy and a grown man together seems designed for the purpose, especially in the West, where comics are traditionally a medium for kids. (It was especially disturbing that the child was supposedly coming on to the adult - that's pure convenient victim-blaming fantasy. I have a clipping somewhere about a British trial in which the judge described the eight year old victim as "no angel".)
This is not a matter of personal taste, avoiding stuff I don't like, the law, or LJ's TOS. Posting and lauding this stuff promotes child sexual abuse. If you must indulge, for heaven's sake, keep it private.
That grim experience dealt with, I want to point to some of the Snape-related yaoi I've found - while I don't think I'll be exploring generic yaoi any further, I am interested in it as an extension of slash. The bits I've seen online cover everything from the downright cute (is this what's meant by "kawaii"?) to the sweet and funny (look at Harry's expression!) to the hilariously romantic (that's Remus in the frock) to the phenomenally hot (not worksafe, I tell you three times!).
These scans come from the collection at Chocolate Frogs. (I'd love to get hold of some of these zines, if I can only work out how! Come to think of it, I'd be quite interested to see some het Snape doujinshi. If I can find some!)
ETA: An enjoyable analysis from aestheticism.com. "Japanese Doujinshi Snape is physically attractive and cranky because he's surrounded by horny goofballs."
