In other news: safely in DC, and struggling manfully with LJ on the parental computer. We had a hectic but marvellous time in London, north Wales, Paris, and Oxford. How wonderful it is to be able to see friends on the other side of the planet face to face. Came away with too much loot as usual, despite mailing a lot of it home. In a state of collapse now with cold, jetlag, and general exhaustion after walking 100000000000 km through the Tube.
Jon's organisational skills are astonishing, taking in flights, hotels, B&Bs, book signings, and meet-ups with only rare hitches (the hotel in Mill Hill's phones didn't work, the B&B in Saint Martin's *lift* didn't work and we were on the fifth floor). His mind must be like a Tube map, full of strange maths and connections.
The very best part of the whole thing was visiting the UK and not being horribly ill and depressed. This time the enjoyment was unspoilt. Very healing.
More crap later when more coherent.
