Stargazing
Jun. 13th, 2006 06:44 amI have a rotten cold, and woke up at quarter to five, which means I've spent the last two hours tagging porn in
time_and_chips and words in
greennotebook. It also means I got to see a blazing Venus in the eastern sky and a silver coin moon in the west. I love looking at the stars, but I'm really not that good at identifying them. I did accomplish a lifetime goal while we were in Fiji, probably helped by the latitude - I identified Leo, and its brightest star, Regulus (with the help of fifteen minutes' Internet cafe time to confirm my diagnosis at Southern Sky Watch). In fact, I could see the zodiac from horizon to horizon, including the moon, Jupiter, and Mars.
