Carla Franklin, stalked and harassed online and off, won her suit to force Google to reveal the anonymous abuser's identity.

ETA: And another woman outwits her stalker. Nice one, madam!

Tim has developed the habit of standing on his hind legs, trying to
reach the cup of kibble I'm about to pour into the bowl. As with most
feeding time behaviour (getting in the way, tripping you up, opera
singing etc) it's hard to see how this actually help relieve his
hunger.

I think it's just that he's magnetically attracted to the food. In
fact, if I raise that kibble up a few more inches, he will detach from
the floor entirely. I would then be able move him about the house in
three dimensions, using the cup as a pointer, perhaps placing him atop
the television or in other humorous positions.

150 words of Strange Flesh.

How the giant panda lost its taste for flesh: pandas used to eat meat, but they switched to bamboo, perhaps because their prey died out. Probably as a consequence, they now longer needed the gene for tasting the savoury umami flavour (the fifth flavour, after salty, sweet, sour, and bitter) which is what makes meat tasty. So when pandas were born with mutations which switched off that gene, it made no difference to them. And here we are four million years later with pandas indifferent to meat.

Dunno why I felt like telling you all that, I just did.
