Found some ancient stuff in the filing cabinet and have been scanning it for posterity. Amongst my earliest, literally feverish AD&D Monster Manual-inspired creations was issue 8 of The Lab Reports, "the official newsletter of the Tomorrow People Fan Club of America", dated February 1989, containing one of fan artist John Cox's marvellous satirical comic strips. Here's a panel I quote to this day:

Caption: Y'know, for some reason I find John's constant earnestness quite amusing (but endearingly so). John: There is a Cyclops involved with Jedekiah somehow - though how or why I JUST don't know! John is labelled 'grim' and 'perpetual polo neck sweater'. Caption: It's all in the delivery, believe me.
