Strange Flesh, Week 8

Almost no measurable progress this week. Real life interfered too much! (But the types of progress which are difficult to measure - bits of research and thinking - kept quietly bubbling along. They're no substitute for putting words on paper, but I haven't lost touch with the story, and parts of it are now clearer.)
