The Minister for Immigration, Peter Dutton, and Nauru's Justice Minister, David Adeang, both assure us that Nauru is a safe place for refugees to live.
In June, an official in the Department of Immigration emailed colleagues to advise that asylum seekers in Australia for medical reasons be returned ASAP to Manus and Nauru, lest they join the High Court case against overseas detention which is currently being heard.
"The Australian National Audit Office is conducting a sweeping audit of asylum seeker healthcare and the relationship between the immigration department and the multinational company that provides medical services."
The government continues to look for dumping grounds for refugees besides Cambodia.
