Testing the many claims of the same-sex marriage campaign (SMH, 30 September 2017). Debunks some of the porkies that annoyed me in the Australian Christian Lobby's pamphlet.

Fact check: Do same-sex couples in a settled domestic relationship have the same rights as married couples? (ABC, 3 October 2017) Their verdict: exaggerated. A marriage certificate means you don't have to keep proving that your relationship counts using different rules to different bureaucrats. (The thought of not being recognised as Jon's next of kin gives me chills.) | What legal benefits do married couples have that de facto couples do not? (ABC, 21 September 2017)

Churches can't be forced to marry same-sex couples if Australia votes yes (ABC, 2 October 2017)

Three quarters of voters have participated in marriage survey: poll (SMH, 2 October 2017) Blimey! ETA: According to the ABS, it's only about sixty percent, which is still more than I would have expected. The government says this justifies the survey, which makes me wonder who else's human rights we'll be generously granting next.

Gay teens twice as likely to be at high risk of suicide than heterosexual peers: study (SMH, 29 September 2017). Can't think why, I say, as I engage in a discussion of whether they're as good as the rest of us. Are attacks on the LGBTI community actually 'long gone'? (SMH, 22 September 2017). Hell, we're living through one. But there's hope: Same-sex marriage could 'prevent 3000 teen suicide attempts a year', say health groups (SMH, 21 September 2017)
