Being a sixties films and all you have to make allowances, but I started to get antsy somewhere around Oh, Isn't it a shame? / I can neither sew / Nor cook, Nor read or write my name / But I'm happy / Merely being lovely / For it's one thing I can give to you, played completely straight.
By "Everybody [sic] Ought To Have Maid", the witty lines and excellent performances were starting to fail to compensate for the relentless female flesh and foolishness. One decent female character, one bit of self-awareness, and I wouldn't have been so annoyed by it, but it really got on my tits.
