There's a huge amount of mix-and-match in religions at that time - sharing of elements such as the Flood story. In fact, I think the Hebrews are the first bunch to try and keep their theology separate. The question now is, what was the role of those Babylonian spirits - is it once again to do work which would be demeaning to a ruler?
