Listen y'all - I thought I should mention that I'm a little uncomfortable with religion-bashing in the comments here. Partly because it makes me flinch on behalf of visitors of faith, and partly because the flaws and foibles of religion are pretty well-known already - there's no need to remind us of them. :-) I'm not angry or anything, mind, and honest criticism of those flaws and foibles is still very welcome. (So is poking fun at fair game such as the twisty balloon Jesus.)

Thanks for that. I like to think I'm one of the ones who can relax and take a bit of ribbing, but I do get a bit irritated at being lumped in with the worst of the America's Christian Wro... er... Right.

If people wish to critique any theological points I make, feel free. I'd much prefer that to having those points buried under straw-man critiques of *somebody else*'s theology (said somebody else not even being anywhere near the discussion at the time!).
