Last night the Prince of Darkness entered my furry idiots and directed them to chew up and devour half a corn cob. Not the kernels; just the hard, fibrous part in the centre. The resulting indigestible matter sat in their little tummy-tum-tums until this morning, when, as usual, they wolfed down their breakfasts like starving cats and then threw up on every inch of the house.

all you need is a Mike Oldfield soundtrack, an old priest and a young priest...

Poor (stupid) kitties. How did they get ahold of a corn cob, of all things?

It must have been left out on a plate after dinner last night. I did see they were noshing on something, but I thought it was just a bit of potato. gah

ah, the joys of being a cat mummy. i don't know if they sell a product called nature's miracle down under, but it is defintiely a cat parent's very best friend. it's helped me eradicate more instances of hairball yark than i'd care to recount.

*also avoids telling you of some overwhelmingly foul litterbox (or rather out-of-litterbox) experiences perpetrated by a cat on medication, but yes - suffice it to say that a good enzyme remover is worth its weight in gold*

Be careful with those corncobs...they can cause much more than indigestion since they are so rough on the GI tract...

I've been watching them both with much nervousness all day, but so far, so good. The first sign of trouble, though, and they're off to the vet so fast their tails will spin.
