Do the people who design online shopping sites ever bother to test them themselves? What could be more offputting for a customer than being required to register, then being chucked into some other part of the site, losing the page for the item they wanted to purchase? It's happened to me three times today! Thank bleep I bookmarked the pages I started from.

They probably *are* tested, but cursorily, and probably not with much idea of user-friendliness.

...Or they're tested for "conformance to specification", by people who aren't allowed (or don't care enough) to say "yeah, but the specification is crap!" =:o\

The question currently occupying my mind is how many *&%)*&% times I'll have to try and download something from the Big Finish site before it actually *&^)*^ works.

*meanders off, chuntering*

Oy, I feel your pain. I'm signed up to Podiobooks.com and just every now and then there's a download that just. won't. work.

If my experiences in IT taught me anything, many would test them to the point of working for them, on their computers, with their level of understanding.

Some people learn computers and after that, they do - not - get - it.

I once pulled someone up for not including basic accessibility in a website they were designing (as a project, for me - I wasn't just being random!). Their response? 'What do I care if disabled people can't use my site!'

Not...impressed.

Glad to see you did get it through, though.
