Granny wants to know why ads show up in her Facebook thing when she's not following any advertisers. (When you've answered that, you can program the VCR for me.)

I thought Facebook was just a bunch of advertisements with occasional comments from friends thrown in to keep people interested?

Hee, yeah, I merrily filled out my profile with my likes, thinking it was there for people I hadn't seen in a while to find things to talk to me about, and suddenly found that Roy Orbison was telling me about his new CD. And there is a major issue there given how long it is since the Big O moved on to the next plane. I do enjoy social media, except the way it pushes the commercial into my social spaces.
