Facebook gossip page vilifies Melbourne high school students. Some of the cyberbullies have been warned or disciplined, but the pages keep resurfacing. Bullies beware: "A Victoria Police spokeswoman said those vilified were encouraged to seek legal advice or contact Facebook if no criminal offence had been committed. Police could lay stalking or menace-over-a-telecommunications-service charges against someone for Facebook posts."

ETA: A superb bit of commentary on this: facebook enabling more efficient bullying.

I was bullied horribly at my high school. When I found out about the ten year reunion a few years ago - it was publicised on the class Facebook Group - I announced on the group that I wanted to attend and discovered the hard way that a lot of people were still trapped in bullyhood - so I didn't end up going.

My thoughts are with the teenage victims of this vicious campaign.

They still hadn't grown out of it? I shouldn't really be surprised - plenty of twentysomething bullies on lj - but man, that's just embarrassing. (I wonder how their lack of social skills as grownups is affecting their employment and relationships. I feel sorry for anyone who has to live or work with them.)
