that make sense of the moffat et al quotes about the lad possessing something the others lacked: danger, from the looks of it. or at least unpredictability. so of course he'd be even more interesting a decade further on, but they don't have the time to wait for a time lord. and then there's that frog prince voice, stuck in frog mode. promising.
