I actually *left the house* today. Went to the library to return a book, read a couple of issues of Discover, and did a bit of grocery shopping. I even accomplished a teensy bit of writing-related stuff. What a simple pleasure it is to walk down the street in the sunshine. Knackered now though.

I brought home a huge plastic tub in which to store the numerous books bought purportedly as research for my original SF novel Hox Box, which currently exists as a sketchy synopsis, some notes, some photocopies, and a giant plastic tub full of books.

Reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Naturally I can't stop mentally comparing it with Blade Runner. I am delighted that not only was the film location shifted from San Francisco to Los Angeles, but the scene at the opera was shifted to a strip club.

Accio grammar

Anyone reading this got any Latin? As an ex-biologist I've got vocab but no grammar. The verbal components magical commands in Harry Potter all look wrong to me. Accio, the summoning spell, looks like it's a statement instead of a command. As I type this it's suddenly occurred to me that it probably means "I summon".
