We're in the Sydney Morning Herald thanks to the fab Mark Juddery: The spin-off doctors. The article finishes with a classic blumination eh.

Didya know it cost the taxpayer over a million bucks to keep the Bakhtiyari family imprisoned? Cruelty is expensive.

We have one completed article, two drabbles, and two pieces of art. We might need one more small piece of art (about 8 cm wide by 6 cm high) - I expect to know for sure on Tuesday. I'll start pimping promoting the zine once everything's in next Friday - there'll be a Web site and a meme. :-) My goal is to sell 20 copies. We could possibly put additional material on the Web site, with an honour system for small Paypal donations.

My aunt and uncle are home from Phuket, and are both fine.

People of faith continue to struggle with the event. The Archbishop of Canterbury has sensible things to say: that of course such an event tests peoples' faith, and should do so.

Not quite so sensible, but interesting reading, is a piece by Boris Johnson on having no-one to blame for the disaster. It's telling to watch him take the road of from "We're not responsible for global warming" to "We may as well just go extinct". Now that's a victim mentality. It's also hilarious how no-one has actually blamed the quake on global warming, but he can nonetheless "sense their silent frustration". (He's wrong about the Mesopotamian Flood, too - it wasn't our fault.)
