Feb. 8th, 2005 08:57 amYOIT picks up, a lot, once we get out of the city and into the Bewilderness. I think it's obvious I'm champing at the bit to get away from these tedious companions and guerillas and back to the Doctor and Karl and the aliens. Besma is wildly undercharacterised. I went back and italicised all those bits in her speech late in the day, just to make her sound more interesting.

Feb. 8th, 2005 10:18 amUnanswered emails down to 17, the oldest of which is from 13 January. This is more organised in the emails department than I have ever been, I think.
Of course, there are still hundreds of the damn things from last year (and the year before, and probably the year before that) sitting on The Other Machine.

Feb. 8th, 2005 06:57 pmJust re-watched The Celluloid Closet, a pointed and very funny history of gays in film, and was a little surprised to find myself tearing up at the end. Like straight women, gay men and lesbians are so often defined by their sexuality; the documentary ends with a collage of romantic images from the movies, sweetness and tenderness and affection and love. It was delightful and moving.
