The death toll is now over 295,000.
You can donate to help women and girls affected by the disaster with maternal and reproductive health care.
Starhawk has a list of local organisations working in tsunami-affected areas. (Arthur C. Clark also commends Sarvodaya in Sri Lanka.)
Greenpeace have been helping out with the Rainbow Warrior.

Feb. 9th, 2005 11:57 amHaving a writing-only day (yeah right). Today's writing, on my original SF novel Hox Box, consists of re-reading my bathtub-soaked copy of Kitchen Confidential and working out a new structure for chapter one, since my original idea means violating the narrator, missus.
