Today in Sydney: highs of 32 in the middle and 37 at the edges. There's a total fire ban and the cats have already melted. Oy bloody vey.

Melbourne's just beginning to recover from a 3-day burst of that sort of weather, although we only reached 32. I've got to get a new fan before it heats up again - 3 nights of very little sleep are starting to take their toll.

Just think, Kate -- in a few weeks, it'll be that temperature here. The difference is that it will be 37 degrees FARENHEIT, not that fake "celsius" bullcrap you metrics-users seem to believe in.

Today, highs of about 65 degrees (normal weather for, say, San Francisco) and lows in the 40s (just above freezing).
