Date: 2010-10-14 04:27 pm (UTC)Oddly enough, I found that piece really encouraging: first that the guy still had sense enough to listen to his own conscience (it's not just women who have intuition, guys), and moreso the fact that this bloke had a mate who was willing to look out for him and give him good advice.
It's hard to make our brains fight against stereotypes sometimes, and tired old the "all men are dogs" chestnut is an especially harmful one (especially for the guys themselves), but stuff like this really gives that dangerous old cliche one in the eye.
(I didn't read the comments, btw. I want to keep being encouraged.)
