More commentary on the Assange sexual assault case from Katha Pollitt, who reports that the witnesses have "been attacked so viciously, that Miss W has gone into hiding and Miss A has moved to the West Bank."

The footage and description on the news last night really annoyed me. I'm not sure what the relevance of one woman allegedly sending a tweet or text (was in the other room, missed the exact word) is, and making allegations that the other woman had a website about "getting revenge on your boyfriend" is a pathetic form of attack. I really dislike the way the defence strategy has focused solely on attacking the two women, to the point that I, on the other side of the world, get to hear these ridiculous allegations on prime time news broadcasts. Attack the government policy, sure, push on the likelihood of extraordinary rendition, sure, but leave the rape trial defense for the actual damn rape trial.

Or better yet, extradite him and let him face a Swedish court. Sheesh.
