My gods, an uninterrupted day. No appointments to keep, no flights to catch. Just a little grocery shopping, housework, puttering, a lovely long nap in the afternoon. (During which I dreamed I was roaring uncontrollably, like a mad lion, which I suspect has an obvious explanation.) After many weeks of disarray, the kitchen looks like it might almost be safe for human beings. I seem to have finished unpacking at last.

Dinner was fresh borlotti / pinto beans and "remaindered" corn on the cob from the greengrocer; spinach and warrigal greens from our tiny but determined garden; and some leftover curried barley from the freezer.

I made a list of all the medications I'm on right now - there are eight, all but one of them (Metamucil) prescription. Imagine what it'll be like when I'm a little old lady!

Now I did too, and it depresses me (five). I guess the good thing is most of them are temporary.

Oooh...your day sounds lovely. I love it when people share their "quiet" days, as well as the "big ones."

It still freaks me out a little that your Saturday is over as mine is just starting...this time stuff is so weird.

I thought of you this week, as you are my favorite Australian. Big weight there, being the rep for the entire country to me... So my boss is giving some fancy oration at the Univ. of Melborne, and he asked me to send his full academic regalia to Australia. Regalia to Australia....sounds like band. Heh. So I handed over his cap, gown and hood to the Fedex "overnight dellivery" man, with my high hopes that it will end up down under.

I managed to avoid the meds until reaching, um, 40-something, but now am snarfing down three plus fish oil and the multi-vitamin...seems to be the way it is these days...but I believe they will help see to it that I get to be an old lady! (shut up, you, over there...he said I already am!) Heh.

*hugs*

*reciprocal hugs*

Jon often quotes a bit from "The Critic" where the cartoon hero has ousted his foreign rival in love: "Take your genitalia / Back to Australia!"

I bought onions, leeks, and coriander for the garden today, plus potting mix in the hope of saving the badly neglected lemon tree!

Er, I've seen that lemon tree.

Let it go. Cause man, it's gone.

I don't think it's actually dead. Just extremely comatose. (I avoid the obvious "vegetable" pun.)
