Hypomania? Day 3

I keep looking for metaphors to describe this. Look, it's a bit like you're in a river in a moderately strong current, right? You have a branch or something to hold onto, and you can hold on. But imagine if the current was stronger. Or if you decided to let go.
Now I've gone and conceptualised it as illness, I can't relax and enjoy it. Then again, I can't relax, anyway.
ETA: I've had marked aphasia in the last week or so. Related? Or merely the effect of extreme age?

Date: 2006-07-15 12:51 pm (UTC)[BLINKS] Have you never enjoyed a day off sick with the 'flu?
I usually find that realising that what's bugging me is an *illness* gives me permission to stop struggling through the day as if the problem wasn't there. You can put your feet up, drink lots of fluids and watch TV all day while you wait for it to pass, because that's *allowed* when you're ill.
Though I can relate whole-heartedly to the "can't relax anyway" problem... =:o\ [SYMPAHUG]
