Is spring cleaning a depression thing? I can't bring myself to write, or read, but for some reason have no trouble giving the bedroom the thorough cleaning it badly needs.

When I'm unhappy, I clean the kitchen. Lots of other female friends do similar things (the male friends not so much, they use video games). I suspect it is a control thing, i.e. I feel horrible, but I can make this one thing better/tidier/controlled. An outward expression of an inward desire?

Then again, you might just need to clean the bedroom...

That reminds me, the kitchen is a mess...

I suspect that is why some of us do it. The feeling of accomplishment helps to lighten the depression.


The way this week is going, the house is going to get a monster cleanup this weekend.
