Agreeing re the midwives - my midwifery care has been excellent through my pregnancy and birth, and especially through establishing breastfeeding. They are brilliant, and seem to be less gung-ho to leap in and start treatment for various things if they deem it unnecessary...

I was threatened with a D&C for retained products the other day by an SHO on the delivery ward, but a senior midwife said it just wasnt necessary, the whole situ wasn't as bad as the SHO painted it up to be, just overexertion...

That "Love me tender" thing is... Ugh. [SHUDDER] And I recognise so much of it, as bits and pieces from random observations here and there, but it's truly horrifying to see it all assembled together like that.

Midwives are the bomb, & the world is going to hell in a handbasket -- no surprises there. It's just a matter of how fast the descent is going to be -- Palin '08 for a death defyingly leap from the cliffs of insanity to the broken remnants of human dignity, women's rights, common sense...

All the hard hitting news I need I get from the Daily Show - for comedy the best fix is usually Fox "news." All this other stuff is so depressing, I don't know how you cope with it all.
