Ooh! Which albums have you already heard? My faves are Brain Salad Surgery (which includes Karn Evil 9 - "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends!"), Tarkus and the double album Works I, which has all sorts of stuff and includes Fanfare for the Common Man.
Sadly, no full albums...just a few tracks. Of those I've heard, I love Pirates (all 16 or so minutes of it!) and Lucky Man, which are the only ones I have on mp3. I've been meaning to check out some of the albums, and looked up a few web sites, but still wasn't sure where to begin...
Go out and buy yourself a copy of Brain Salad Surgery. It's got everything - a science fiction pomp rock epic, a barroom brawl with honky-tonk piano, an eerie love song, a hymn played ear-splittingly on the electronic organ and one hell of a classical cover version.
Cool, I'll check it out. Once pay-day hits (like you I'm on a spending embargo at the moment), I'll head down to the local bargain basement imported CD store (Dragonfly Discs in Elizabeth Street) and see if they have a copy...failing that JB Hi-Fi should have it at a reasonable price.
