Reading about embryos and such at the moment for Quiet Game. Some of the questions this stuff provokes is like messing around with the rules in a role-playing game: when two embryos fuse spontaneously fuse to form a single chimeric individual, as occasionally happens, how many souls does the resulting human being have?

According to fairly recent official errata to the First Edition rules, embryos acquire a soul at conception. However many gaming groups have their own house rules in place, so it depends on your group.

I'm unaware if there's official word on the chymera question, but based on a fair understanding of the principles guiding the writing of recent errata and expansions, I'd suggest that one embryo is deemed to have passed on, leaving only one soul.

However, I like infinitarian's idea far better. :)
